When I jumped into horror a few months ago and started compiling a list of titles, I tried to be sure that my list included as many female authors, LGBTQ+ authors, and authors of color as possible. It’s an ongoing project, and I’m constantly swapping out titles on my buy list to ensure that I’m not giving preference to white male authors, who still make up a large part of the genre.
