Kroatiska pärlor från Istrien - DinVinguide
White flowers, peaches and juicy yellow fruits are dominant. In this very good vintage 2015, some extra layers of cloves and cinnamon are adding to the complexity. It is dry on the palate. If the character on the nose is maybe a bit shy, which is what Gianfranco Kozlović is the largest private producer of Malvasia in Istria, and a vocal crusader for quality. The family has been working these vineyards that dot the hillsides of northern Istria for several generations. Kozlovic is a wine producer that was founded on a few hectares of land in Istria, Croatia, in 1904.

Kozlovic Malvazija 2015, 75 cl, 189 kr Vitt vin på Vinguiden
It shows ripe citrus aromas mixed with dried grass and white pepper, combined with wonderfully intense flavours and a firm backbone of acidity.
Reminiscent of the fresh sea breeze which blows along the Istrian coast, this pretty white is made with local favorite Malvasia which has been grown here for centuries. The small Kozlovic winery has been in the hands of the same family since 1904 and is currently run by Gianfranco and Antonella Kozlovic. Malvazija JRE which is a joined product of 15 top chefs from Jeunes Restaurateurs Croatia (JRE) and winemaker Franco Kozlović displays medium to deep golden colour with lovely brilliance. Quite pronounced on the nose, showing maturity. Slightly honeyed and spicy, with hints of gingerbread, saffron, nutmeg, dried apricots, bit of oak.
